La francophonie c’est quoi?
The francophonie was first heard of in 1880 when a french geographer, Onesime Reclus used the word francophonie to refer to all french speaking places and people.

Francophone week is a week were you celebrate the French language, common bond and their diversity.

This year the francophonie week will take place on March 17th-23rd, 2014.
La semaine de la francophonie, cette annee, propose quelles activités?
During the week of francophonie there are groups that host events and concerts. There will be contests to do, shows, writing workshops and a time to show pride for the francophonie.
Au niveau international?
Internationally, most countries will have small or big events. There will be concerts, shows, workshops and a time to have fun! Also numerous activities are carried out in which local authorities, associations, school personalities and individuals are invited to join.
Au niveau local?
Here the Francophone week will take place on the 17th-23rd of March, 2014. Here it’s initiative is taken by the countries that are part of the OIF such as Switzerland, Vietnam, France, Belgium, Canada, Laos, Morocco and many more. It is also supported by Diplomatic Missions of the International Organisation of La Francophonie. There will be different food stands set up with different concerts taking place as well.
